About AIX

Aroostook Investment Exchange is provided by Northern Maine Finance Corporation to bring together providers of risk capital with qualified entrepreneurs seeking capital. AIX is supported by Northern Maine Development Commission, Aroostook Partnership for Progress and is part of the strategic plan for Aroostook County.

The purpose of AIX is to provide opportunities for qualified entrepreneurs who have a sound business plan, a need for capital and an exit strategy for providers of risk capital. Each entrepreneur, existing business or one to be newly formed, will provide information that will be reviewed by the board of directors of NMFC and if selected, present its proposal to prospective providers of risk capital at a forum held by NMFC for this purpose. NMFC and the AIX forum are not designed to be a broker, analyst, financial advisor nor licensed by the security and exchange commission to provide any of these services. AIX is simply a forum at which and entrepreneur and a provider of risk capital can meet. An invitation to present or be present at a forum does not constitute a recommendation or suggestion of one. Each prospective investor should seek sound legal and investment advice on their own before making any decision to invest in any of the presenters.

Meetings will be held depending on the number of qualified applicants that are approved for presentation. NMFC staff will work with applicants concerning their presentation. All presentations will be limited to ten minutes according to the format outlined in the attached informational sheet. Please take a minute to review each and determine if this is something that would work for you.

NMFC and its partners have determined that good businesses exist or are willing to look at development in Aroostook County, but do not always need additional debt. Likewise there are a number of potential investors located in Aroostook County that would be willing to listen to investment possibilities for existing and new business development in Aroostook County. AIX is just a forum by which these two parties are brought together. If a potential investor is interested in an investment they should contact their legal council and accountants for good sound advise before making any decision to invest. Any contact after the forum is strictly between the potential investor and the entrepreneur. AIX, NMC and all its partners do not earn a commission or look for one as a result of any transactions that may take place outside of the forum.
